Qualification: Masters in Economics from Government College
Lahore.
He joined government service in the year 1999 and served in
field offices as Income Tax Circle Incharge, Special
Assistant to Commissioner and Taxation officer in audit
Division.
In Directorate General of Training and Research(IR) as a
member of the team he is performing the following duties
Refresher Training Courses
Refresher training courses for officials of BS-7 to BS-15 of
Inland Revenue are essential for the success of reform
process and to acquaint the staff members with the changing
work environment. Training is being provided to four
different caders of officials. Modules of training cover
important provisions of Income Tax Law, Sales Tax Law,
Federal Excise Duty, Book Keeping and Service Rules. These
training modules are being followed in DOT (Hqrs) Lahore and
Regional Directorates of Islamabad and Karachi.
Lectures:
He is delivering lectures during these refresher courses and
we intend to provide training to staff in all RTOs of
Pakistan.
Research:
Research has been recently introduced for the specialized
training programme. It was felt that young officers need to
develop investigative skills and enhance their knowledge
about different economic, social and financial issues. In
this respect young officers are divided into different
research syndicates to prepare research papers. Research
cell has managed to prepare comprehensive research papers on
different financial and economic issues. He has supervised
research syndicates that carried out research on following
topics:
1- Scope and development of Industrial clusters in Pakistan
2- Telecommunication sector- Its role, contribution towards
FBR Revenues, Problems and issues.
3- Textile sector is the back bone of economy of Pakistan-
The ills faced by the sector and its contribution towards
economic development.
He has also written research articles on Foreign Direct
Investment and inflation.
DOT GAZETTE:
He is Assistant editor of DOT Gazette which is published on
quarterly basis and it covers all the important events of
DOT (IR) and articles contributed by DOT faculty and
Probationary Officers.
