Specialized Training Program (STP)

The officers of Inland Revenue Service (IRS) are recruited in BPS-16 and BPS-17 through competitive examinations conducted by the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC). The newly recruited officers, also known as probationary officers / probationers have diversified educational backgrounds and most of them are unfamiliar to tax laws. Since, application of tax laws is a specialized domain they are imparted extensive training at Directorate General of Training and Research (Inland Revenue), Lahore. The training spans over a period of 9 to 13 months and is known as Specialized Training Programme (STP). 38^th Specialized Training Programme has been concluded and Passing Out Ceremony was held on 14.01.2012.
